I worked together with Craig Alexander from Craig Alexander Photography, to create a music video for a local Wirral musician Sam Wise.
The Brief was to create a 'cute' animation to follow the lyrics of the song 'Of Love.' The client wanted 'low fi stick people.' They were presented with different options and selected the stick people drawn with a crayon brush from Illustrator. The background idea for the song came from thoughts about where the people in the song might be having a discussion about their life together. One of the most likely locations was in a pub, so the background is set as a wooden pub table with a custom Of Love beer mat. The idea was that the story of the animation, featuring the stick people should be on scraps of old crumpled paper (the idea that the relationship was previously consigned to the scrap heap or bin) which blow away one by one as the story is told.
The chorus part of the song is in an After Effects 4D Cinema Render where the stickman and woman jump into 3D characters and the actual singers performing the song are revealed.
